Hi there! I'm a wedding photographer based in Boulder, Colorado and Sacramento, California. I travel frequently, so if your not in one of those places, please still reach out!
I grew up in Japan, before moving to beautiful Boulder, Colorado when I was in my teen years. My parents were avid travelers, so I've spent much of my life exploring the world. From exploring all these places, I wanted to capture all the beauty I was witnessing, which is when I picked up a camera. Throughout the years I grew to love honest moments between people more than anything, which is what led me photographing weddings. Photography is my absolute passion- I couldn't imagine doing anything else with my life. I would say I have a photojournalistic style- I like to be a fly on the wall, and capture those honest, fleeting moments. My goal throughout the day is for us to have fun, and stay in the moment.
I love being in my late 20's, traveling, art, music, dancing, and wine. You can usually find me rock climbing, hiking, and camping out in the wild with my boyfriend Carlo.
If you'd like to chat, get in touch! Can't wait to meet you.
"Mary Mecklenburg did such an amazing job on our wedding. My friends keep commenting on how great our pictures are and I couldn't agree more. When she shared the final product with us, we spent the day flipping through the photos and reliving the best day of our lives. The pictures turned out better than I ever could've imagined. Mary took into consideration everything we asked for and really customized her photos to our personalities and requests. She was also a joy to work with--professional yet laid back. I STRONGLY recommend hiring her for your next event." - Rachel Dane
"Mary, I can't accurately capture the reaction to those photos from my family and friends, but it has seriously been overwhelming. We've had so many people reach out saying that the album is the best set of engagement photos they've ever seen and ask us WHO WAS THE PHOTOGRAPHER??
I cry pretty much any time I look through them (which is more than I want to admit!) because you really did capture so much of who Eric and I are and it's so touching. " - Amanda Lane
