My Approach
Honest, candid moments that tell the real story of your love.
The most common feedback I get from my clients is how comfortable and effortless it felt to work together. I pride myself on my ability to listen to couples and connect with them. This allows me to truly empathize and capture the real you.
I encourage couples to be themselves—silly, serious, loving, honest—whatever that means to you, there are no judgments. The greatest memories and photographs happen when people feel comfortable and at ease.
I have a candid, and documentary-style approach, and take a blend of landscape and intimate photos. When we work together I will guide you in bringing out natural and loving poses.
About Mary
The woman behind the lens
Whether rock climbing in the mountains, or sitting around a campfire, I’m happiest outdoors. Traveling and exploring new cultures has always been a passion of mine. I grew up in a small town in Southern Japan. In high school, I moved to Boulder, Colorado where I lived for 13 years before settling in Northern California. Before photographing weddings, I worked in the outdoor industry. I enjoy combining my love for landscape photography with taking photos of couples. When I’m not photographing weddings, you can find me going on camping trips in my Scamp trailer with my husband, eating delicious foods, and spending quality time with my loved ones. I also help out my husband with his climbing gym business in Sacramento, called The Boulder Field.
